The Authority may hear claims, admit evidence and make determinations. Authority belongs to the office, not to omniscience. Its judgement is not the same thing as truth.
A Determination may have procedural force and consequences without becoming truth.
THE CLAIM WAS GOOD
A claim enters the record and calls authority into being. Authority gives the matter form, procedure and consequence.
AND THEN CAME THE REPLY
A reply limits authority. It requires the office to hear another position and places its own conduct under examination.
Authority may be challenged. No office, figure or determination is beyond examination.
This proposition corresponds with Card V – The Hierophant, considered here as The Authority. Its place within a proposed complete sequence is entered into the record.
